Hi Zach, well by now you are probably back from NY. I hope you had a wonderful time and perhaps you would be willing to share some of your experiences here on the blog. Next up, Maui. You are becoming a world traveler ;-) Lots coming up on this end.....Going over to Sausalito to watch the fireworks for 4th of July. We will be celebrating Granddad's 75th birthday! That's quite a milestone. The whole family will be there and we are going to have a picnic on the waterfront where they have the show so should be lot's of fun. Auntie Kim, Uncle Gregg, Lisa, Jeff, Cody & Mel will all be there and off course Nana and Granddad. A bit of sad news for Uncle Gregg....Maui, his Ocicat, has been sick with pneumonia these past few weeks and wasn't getting any better. They did a lung biopsy and found out he has cancer and there is no saving him. This will be the 3rd cat your uncle has lost and Maui is only 4 years old so it's very sad. Remember they lost Maui's sister Sierra when she was about a year? We think she had the same thing. Maui is doing ok for now but won't last much longer.

On a brighter note I am planning a baby shower at Tilden Park. Remember Alicia and Ryan, our good friends? Well they are pregnant with a baby girl due in September and I am hosting a shower where even the guys will go. Lots to do, cake, favors, games, menu...the list goes on but it will be fun when it all comes together.

Cody is doing fine and getting much more independent now that he is 18. I know he is looking forward to joining all of you on vacation and I am very happy he is going as I know it means a lot to him. Well better sign off and get back to work. No pictures this time but I will probably have some after Sunday. Hope you have a terrific 4th of July. Love you very much and miss you so much more than you will ever know.

Waiting for Spring

Hi Zach, we are waiting for spring to come here in Benicia as most days have been  rainy and chilly. Your mom has always loved beach weather and can’t wait for summer lol. Hope that wherever you are, you are enjoying the outdoors. Aside from celebrating Jeff’s 54th birthday, February was fairly quiet around here. I have been working a lot of shifts at the winery which is still the best job ever and Jeff and I have been preparing for the first vacation. we have had alone together in two years. We flew down to Curaçao, which is part of the Netherland Antilles and is close to Aruba. We had a very relaxing and amazing time in the warm weather and on the beautiful beaches. Came home to that drizzly chill and are back to waiting for sunshine. I often wonder if you travel for fun and if so, what places you have discovered and if you have any favorites. We have a couple more trips coming up this year, one to visit your uncle Gregg and auntie Kim now that they live in Portugal. Al...

Holiday Spirit

  Dear Zach, hoping you got the Christmas and birthday cards I sent to you. Cannot believe you are 30 years old now. I can’t really say time has flown given  that not being able to see you has left a huge void in our lives. The holiday season is always bittersweet in that our family always finds ways to celebrate and love one another, but there  are always thoughts of missing  you intertwined.  Jeff and I flew Cody down for the Benicia annual Christmas tree lighting and to see Nana and granddad. It was a short but very special weekend. I have included the video where Cody surprised your grandparents with his visit. It made them both so happy. It was Jeff’s family’s turn for Christmas so we flew up to Washington to be with his nephew, Maxon and the rest of the family. When I’m Sixty-Four.

Hi Zach, well, now I am officially the age of a Beatles song. It’s hard to believe I’m that old and have yet to reunite with you. It’s been almost 15 years.  I think of you every day of my life and pray that you are happy and loved.  Of course, October means Halloween, one of my favorite holidays. We met up with friends to celebrate and I dressed as Beth from the television show Yellowstone. Perhaps you’ve heard of it. Earlier in the month your aunt Christine and I went to a meet and greet for the actor Sam Heughan from outlander. It’s a show. We are both obsessed with that takes place in 18th century Scotland around the clan Fraser. Up until a few years ago, I had no idea that Jeff’s family are Fraser’s and Fraser is his younger brother‘s and father’s middle name. My head exploded lol. Thanksgiving was quiet as Nana and granddad don’t eat much so taking them to a restaurant where they are serving a huge meal is not ideal. Instead, Jeff and I spent the...
