Christmas and Your Birthday

Hey Zach, sorry it's been almost a month since I last wrote to you but it's hard when I realize that right now you are not reading my letters or looking at this site at all. Still, I will keep trying to forge a relationship with you somehow as it is the most important thing in this world to me. I pray for it every day, wish for it on every star and dream of it every night. I hope one day you will see that I have always loved you and will always be waiting for that one day you might change your mind. It's almost Christmas and even more exciting only 6 more days until your birthday. I can't believe you will be 16 and eligible to drive! Seems like just yesterday you were chatting with store clerks and brightening everyone's day with your sunny and precious smiles. I think back on all the remarkable things you said and did all the time. I am sure you continue to blow everyone away with your personality and charm and I know it is not lost in your pursuits of drama, singing and dancing. Maybe you could let me know when you will be in another performance as I would fly on a dime for a chance to see you on stage again.

We are off to Nana's on Christmas day. Cody, Jeff, Auntie Kim and Uncle Gregg will all be there as well. Nana is having a traditional Boxing Day party on the 26th and we will stay for that too so we can meet and see all their friends. I wish with all my heart you could be there to share in that and I know Nana and Granddad and everyone else would gladly trade all their Christmas wishes for a chance to see you again. They all miss you so terribly. Anyway, I am sure you have plenty of Christmas and Birthday excitement happening back there in Texas. Just know we will all be thinking of you on those days and always. I wish you a very happy and wonderful birthday my dear son and hope that it is everything you had hoped for. I love you with all my heart and will always be here for you.

Waiting for Spring

Hi Zach, we are waiting for spring to come here in Benicia as most days have been  rainy and chilly. Your mom has always loved beach weather and can’t wait for summer lol. Hope that wherever you are, you are enjoying the outdoors. Aside from celebrating Jeff’s 54th birthday, February was fairly quiet around here. I have been working a lot of shifts at the winery which is still the best job ever and Jeff and I have been preparing for the first vacation. we have had alone together in two years. We flew down to Curaçao, which is part of the Netherland Antilles and is close to Aruba. We had a very relaxing and amazing time in the warm weather and on the beautiful beaches. Came home to that drizzly chill and are back to waiting for sunshine. I often wonder if you travel for fun and if so, what places you have discovered and if you have any favorites. Holiday Spirit

  Dear Zach, hoping you got the Christmas and birthday cards I sent to you. Cannot believe you are 30 years old now. I can’t really say time has flown given  that not being able to see you has left a huge void in our lives. The holiday season is always bittersweet in that our family always finds ways to celebrate and love one another, but there  are always thoughts of missing  you intertwined.  Jeff and I flew Cody down for the Benicia annual Christmas tree lighting and to see Nana and granddad. It was a short but very special weekend. I have included the video where Cody surprised your grandparents with his visit. It made them both so happy. It was Jeff’s family’s turn for Christmas so we flew up to Washington to be with his nephew, Maxon and the rest of the family. When I’m Sixty-Four.

Hi Zach, well, now I am officially the age of a Beatles song. It’s hard to believe I’m that old and have yet to reunite with you. It’s been almost 15 years.  I think of you every day of my life and pray that you are happy and loved.  Of course, October means Halloween, one of my favorite holidays. We met up with friends to celebrate and I dressed as Beth from the television show Yellowstone. Perhaps you’ve heard of it. Earlier in the month your aunt Christine and I went to a meet and greet for the actor Sam Heughan from outlander. It’s a show. We are both obsessed with that takes place in 18th century Scotland around the clan Fraser. Up until a few years ago, I had no idea that Jeff’s family are Fraser’s and Fraser is his younger brother‘s and father’s middle name. My head exploded lol.
