Another Milestone

Hi Zach, I have been kind of sick over the past few weeks and that is part of the reason I am so late in writing this month. By now you have probably been off for winter break or at least the Presidents' day holidays. I heard you may have had some snow down there. Like here it's pretty rare. They said we would have it last Friday but it never did come. Oh well. Too cold for my taste anyway.

Lots going on. Jeff and I are learning to speak Italian as he is taking me there over my birthday later this year. I want to be able to converse with the locals as we will stay mostly in the country villages in order to get a real taste of living there. Very excited. On Saturday we successfully surprised Jeff with a 40th birthday party hosted at Michelle's. There were about 30 people or so including Cody, Mitch, Michael, Brittany & Sammy. Nana and Granddad came as well. Jeff was really surprised and we made him dress up like a caballero to go with the Mexican theme. He also had to hit a pinata. Don't think he had done that in quite a while. Anyway it was all good fun and everyone had a great time. The pictures are of Jeff & me after he first arrived and the other one is of me and Buddy. Buddy is Brittany's dog that they adopted last year after bidding money on an ARF foundation adoption during the Gala we went to for Lisa's Leukemia-

Lymphoma Society woman of the year nomination. He is an awesome dog, part Shiba-Inu and part Basengi. He doesn't really bark, but yodles once in a while and he is totally mellow and sweet. We all love him.
Speaking of animals, took Rudy to the vet AGAIN for stomach issues. They took blood tests and I should find out something tomorrow. He is a dietary 'special needs' cat, go figure. Well, I think I have all but written a novel here so I had better sign off. I hope everything in your life is going really well. Remember I and the rest of your family and friends here in California love and miss you so much. Please get in touch when you can.
Love Always,
Mom
