Independence

Hi Zach, feeling a bit lonely these days but I will have to get used to it. Cody has taken the next step towards independence and moved into a condo with Robbie. It was really tough seeing one of my babies leave home though Cody probably wouldn't see it that way. He is even signing a lease so he can start to build a credit history and is setting aside money each week for rent. I am very proud of him, he packed up all his stuff, drove the moving truck, took things apart and put them back together again and is now totally settled in. I don't know if school is in the cards for right now, I think he just needs to spread his wings and see how things are on his own for a bit. He is doing very well at work managing the dairy department and checking up front so money doesn't seem to be a problem and he has a very creative side, not unlike you, that he wants to use writing songs and trying to perform. He has been making some contacts these past couple of weeks so we will have to see where that takes him. He stopped by last night just to see me! I was so touched. It is really amazing to see how much he has grown in the past year. You would be proud too Zach.

Just watched the movie The Descendants and it totally brought back memories of when you were with us and we were a family. The movie is all about family ties, complications and history and is very bittersweet because the mom dies and her children don't really get to say everything they want to say to her. I think about how we never talk and wonder if we ever will before it's too late. I hope we have a chance to reconnect in the near future. I pray for that and think about you every day. I love you more than you will ever realize and hope that everything in your life is wonderful and that you are happy in Texas.

Love,
Mom
