Happy Belated Easter!

Hi Zach, well I guess you're past the days filled with egg hunts and the Easter Bunny, but I hope you had a nice day and dinner with everyone. Jeff and I took Cody and his girlfriend Jessica out to lunch that day and of course delivered some chocolate. It was nice to be able to meet her and get to know her a little better. Cody has been working very hard at Safeway and seems to be managing his life quite well now that he is on his own. It has rained hard all this week, but we need to catch up so it's all good. We are headed to a 50th birthday dinner in San Mateo tomorrow, it's for one of your Uncle Gregg's and my childhood friends so the whole family will be going including your Nana and Granddad. We have all been really sick with this awful cold over the past couple of weeks. Cody and I had it pretty bad and the cough is hanging on but we are better now. Maybe you got lucky and didn't have to deal with it. I should have gotten a flu shot. Anyway just wanted to post a quick note to say hi, I hope that Patti and your dad have been encouraging you to read this blog Zach. It is something they committed to doing before they moved you to Texas, though it doesn't seem as if you are getting the message since I don't ever hear anything. Want you to know I am here for you always and love you so much Zach.

Waiting for Spring

Hi Zach, we are waiting for spring to come here in Benicia as most days have been  rainy and chilly. Your mom has always loved beach weather and can’t wait for summer lol. Hope that wherever you are, you are enjoying the outdoors. Aside from celebrating Jeff’s 54th birthday, February was fairly quiet around here. I have been working a lot of shifts at the winery which is still the best job ever and Jeff and I have been preparing for the first vacation. we have had alone together in two years. We flew down to Curaçao, which is part of the Netherland Antilles and is close to Aruba. We had a very relaxing and amazing time in the warm weather and on the beautiful beaches. Came home to that drizzly chill and are back to waiting for sunshine. I often wonder if you travel for fun and if so, what places you have discovered and if you have any favorites. Holiday Spirit

  Dear Zach, hoping you got the Christmas and birthday cards I sent to you. Cannot believe you are 30 years old now. I can’t really say time has flown given  that not being able to see you has left a huge void in our lives. The holiday season is always bittersweet in that our family always finds ways to celebrate and love one another, but there  are always thoughts of missing  you intertwined.  Jeff and I flew Cody down for the Benicia annual Christmas tree lighting and to see Nana and granddad. It was a short but very special weekend. I have included the video where Cody surprised your grandparents with his visit. It made them both so happy. It was Jeff’s family’s turn for Christmas so we flew up to Washington to be with his nephew, Maxon and the rest of the family. When I’m Sixty-Four.

Hi Zach, well, now I am officially the age of a Beatles song. It’s hard to believe I’m that old and have yet to reunite with you. It’s been almost 15 years.  I think of you every day of my life and pray that you are happy and loved.  Of course, October means Halloween, one of my favorite holidays. We met up with friends to celebrate and I dressed as Beth from the television show Yellowstone. Perhaps you’ve heard of it. Earlier in the month your aunt Christine and I went to a meet and greet for the actor Sam Heughan from outlander. It’s a show. We are both obsessed with that takes place in 18th century Scotland around the clan Fraser. Up until a few years ago, I had no idea that Jeff’s family are Fraser’s and Fraser is his younger brother‘s and father’s middle name. My head exploded lol.
