Hi Zach, well tomorrow Jeff and I are off to the Big Island to stay at your uncle's condo with Ryan and Alicia and their 18-month-old Juliette. Haven't taken a baby to Hawaii since we brought Cody to Maui when he was just one. It will be so fun to watch her take it all in and enjoy the water. Nana and Granddad are cat-sitting for us of course and now that Cody is living with Robbie, he will probably come back to the house for dinner with them a couple of times. Granddad will be doing some handiwork around my place as I have been there over 10 years now and it needs some updates. I am lucky to have Granddad to do those kinds of things for me and it gives him and Nana a chance to visit all their friends in the east bay.

You are probably counting down the days to the end of your Junior year of high school. I have so many questions that I hope to learn the answers to someday. Like, have you learned to drive yet? Did you go to any proms with your friends this year and what colleges have you applied to? I will always want to know everything about your life and hope that you are doing all the things you love and that you have good friends back there in Texas. Anyway, I will sign off now and write about the Hawaii trip when I get back. I should have a few pictures to post as well. As always Zach, I love and miss you every single day pray for the day we can be together again.

Waiting for Spring

Hi Zach, we are waiting for spring to come here in Benicia as most days have been  rainy and chilly. Your mom has always loved beach weather and can’t wait for summer lol. Hope that wherever you are, you are enjoying the outdoors. Aside from celebrating Jeff’s 54th birthday, February was fairly quiet around here. I have been working a lot of shifts at the winery which is still the best job ever and Jeff and I have been preparing for the first vacation. we have had alone together in two years. We flew down to Curaçao, which is part of the Netherland Antilles and is close to Aruba. We had a very relaxing and amazing time in the warm weather and on the beautiful beaches. Came home to that drizzly chill and are back to waiting for sunshine. I often wonder if you travel for fun and if so, what places you have discovered and if you have any favorites. Holiday Spirit

  Dear Zach, hoping you got the Christmas and birthday cards I sent to you. Cannot believe you are 30 years old now. I can’t really say time has flown given  that not being able to see you has left a huge void in our lives. The holiday season is always bittersweet in that our family always finds ways to celebrate and love one another, but there  are always thoughts of missing  you intertwined.  Jeff and I flew Cody down for the Benicia annual Christmas tree lighting and to see Nana and granddad. It was a short but very special weekend. I have included the video where Cody surprised your grandparents with his visit. It made them both so happy. It was Jeff’s family’s turn for Christmas so we flew up to Washington to be with his nephew, Maxon and the rest of the family. When I’m Sixty-Four.

Hi Zach, well, now I am officially the age of a Beatles song. It’s hard to believe I’m that old and have yet to reunite with you. It’s been almost 15 years.  I think of you every day of my life and pray that you are happy and loved.  Of course, October means Halloween, one of my favorite holidays. We met up with friends to celebrate and I dressed as Beth from the television show Yellowstone. Perhaps you’ve heard of it. Earlier in the month your aunt Christine and I went to a meet and greet for the actor Sam Heughan from outlander. It’s a show. We are both obsessed with that takes place in 18th century Scotland around the clan Fraser. Up until a few years ago, I had no idea that Jeff’s family are Fraser’s and Fraser is his younger brother‘s and father’s middle name. My head exploded lol.
