City Life
Hi Zach, well I think Cody was happy to tell dad that he had moved out on his own and is totally independent. He is doing really well and has a girlfriend, Jessica, that is very sweet. They seem to get along very well together and are very grounded in life. I am very happy that Cody has found someone like her. I also have some news of my own.....Jeff and I moved to down town Walnut Creek a few weeks ago to see what city life is like. We love being able to walk everywhere in town, to the farmer's market on weekends and to the movies etc. It is pretty cool and convenient and I am now only about a mile and a half from work which is great. Jeff only has to walk 2 blocks to BART to get into SF so he is loving that as well. We are currently trying to get the kitties to be friends with each other and it is coming along slowly. Cats need time to adjust to their new surroundings and each other so we have a bit of work ahead of us and need a lot of patience with them. Speaking of work, I did keep our house and will be renting it out, so I have been over there a lot painting, cleaning, getting new carpet and fixing things up. Of course Nana and Granddad have been a huge help to me as well as Jeff, Lisa and Michelle's husband Dean. Cody and I had been there over 11 years so there was a lot of buildup to get clean and a lot of stuff to be sold. Nana and Cori helped me put on a huge garage sale and I am donating the rest to Salvation Army. Our new place is smaller than the Concord house, so we both had to get rid of a lot. It feels good to start fresh though and get rid of some of the junk. Anyway, just thought you might like to know I am in a new phase of my life. None of that changes how much I love and miss you however and I wish I could share all this with you in person. Cody has been very sweet and is extremely happy for me and for himself as well. I have seen a real sense of maturity and thoughtfulness grow in your brother. You would be very proud of him too Zach. Someday, I hope the two of you can put the past behind you and be the brothers that you should be. I will sign off for now. I love you and hope that your Junior year of H.S. has been a fantastic one!
