Happy Birthday Cody!!!

Well Zach, today your brother turns 20! Can you believe it. I can still picture him at 2 years old padding around after granddad and helping him water the roses when they lived at their old house. He is a lot TALLER now and has also grown into an extremely thoughtful and insightful young man. I am very proud of him and hope that you can find a way to wish him well today. He wears a shield around his heart, but I am sure he would be very touched to hear from you. He has been living on his own now for over 2 months and is really making a go of it. He and Robbie are going to try and find a roommate and move into a house so that they have more room for bikes, etc. and a bit more privacy. Their apartment can seem pretty small when they have their girlfriends over as well. Jeff and I are taking Cody and Jessica to dinner tonight and I think just the two of them are sharing a dinner tomorrow night. We are all headed up to see Nana and Granddad on Sunday to celebrate Father's Day and will be hearing all about your Uncle Gregg's trip to Bora Bora to celebrate his and your Auntie Kim's 10th wedding anniversary. We will also be filling them in on our new place as well as how the kitties are getting acclimated. It has been a battle at times, but they are all calming down now and starting to actually enjoy each other when they play. Wish you could see the place. There is a huge pool that I am using to swim laps to keep in shape and it is so nice being just steps away from everything. Remember you can come and stay any time Zach and that I will fly you out here in a heartbeat. I miss you and think of you all the time. I pray you can feel how much I love you way back there in Texas. Please get in touch.

Waiting for Spring

Hi Zach, we are waiting for spring to come here in Benicia as most days have been  rainy and chilly. Your mom has always loved beach weather and can’t wait for summer lol. Hope that wherever you are, you are enjoying the outdoors. Aside from celebrating Jeff’s 54th birthday, February was fairly quiet around here. I have been working a lot of shifts at the winery which is still the best job ever and Jeff and I have been preparing for the first vacation. we have had alone together in two years. We flew down to Curaçao, which is part of the Netherland Antilles and is close to Aruba. We had a very relaxing and amazing time in the warm weather and on the beautiful beaches. Came home to that drizzly chill and are back to waiting for sunshine. I often wonder if you travel for fun and if so, what places you have discovered and if you have any favorites. Holiday Spirit

  Dear Zach, hoping you got the Christmas and birthday cards I sent to you. Cannot believe you are 30 years old now. I can’t really say time has flown given  that not being able to see you has left a huge void in our lives. The holiday season is always bittersweet in that our family always finds ways to celebrate and love one another, but there  are always thoughts of missing  you intertwined.  Jeff and I flew Cody down for the Benicia annual Christmas tree lighting and to see Nana and granddad. It was a short but very special weekend. I have included the video where Cody surprised your grandparents with his visit. It made them both so happy. It was Jeff’s family’s turn for Christmas so we flew up to Washington to be with his nephew, Maxon and the rest of the family. When I’m Sixty-Four.

Hi Zach, well, now I am officially the age of a Beatles song. It’s hard to believe I’m that old and have yet to reunite with you. It’s been almost 15 years.  I think of you every day of my life and pray that you are happy and loved.  Of course, October means Halloween, one of my favorite holidays. We met up with friends to celebrate and I dressed as Beth from the television show Yellowstone. Perhaps you’ve heard of it. Earlier in the month your aunt Christine and I went to a meet and greet for the actor Sam Heughan from outlander. It’s a show. We are both obsessed with that takes place in 18th century Scotland around the clan Fraser. Up until a few years ago, I had no idea that Jeff’s family are Fraser’s and Fraser is his younger brother‘s and father’s middle name. My head exploded lol.
