New Orleans and Houston

Hi Zach, been watching all the weather reports about Isaac this week and noticed that your town has been getting quite a bit of wind and rain while it passed through. Hope you have been able to stay safe and dry. Jeff and I are headed to New Orleans next week to see the University of Washington play Louisiana State University in football. We will do a bit of touring as well, maybe a visit to the swamps and a night tour about the vampires. I would love nothing more than to cut over your way for a visit as we will be so close. Just say the word and I am there sweetheart. It would be so nice if you could send just a little sign that you come here to see that I am writing to you. Maybe one day you will.

Everything is good here. I had lunch with Cody yesterday and he came over for dinner with Jeff and me while he did some laundry. We went in the pool as it has been pretty hot these past few days. Nana and Granddad will be down to take care of the kitties while we are away and they will see Cody as well. They are off to England for a whole month in October. Everyone is getting older there now so these visits become so much more important. That's what I fear most with us is that something terrible will happen before we get a chance to reunite. I know it's a horrible thought, but it's hard not to think about things like that when you have absolutely no communication. That's why I keep writing here Zach and I hope that one day you will come around. I love and miss you more than anything.

Waiting for Spring

Hi Zach, we are waiting for spring to come here in Benicia as most days have been  rainy and chilly. Your mom has always loved beach weather and can’t wait for summer lol. Hope that wherever you are, you are enjoying the outdoors. Aside from celebrating Jeff’s 54th birthday, February was fairly quiet around here. I have been working a lot of shifts at the winery which is still the best job ever and Jeff and I have been preparing for the first vacation. we have had alone together in two years. We flew down to Curaçao, which is part of the Netherland Antilles and is close to Aruba. We had a very relaxing and amazing time in the warm weather and on the beautiful beaches. Came home to that drizzly chill and are back to waiting for sunshine. I often wonder if you travel for fun and if so, what places you have discovered and if you have any favorites. Holiday Spirit

  Dear Zach, hoping you got the Christmas and birthday cards I sent to you. Cannot believe you are 30 years old now. I can’t really say time has flown given  that not being able to see you has left a huge void in our lives. The holiday season is always bittersweet in that our family always finds ways to celebrate and love one another, but there  are always thoughts of missing  you intertwined.  Jeff and I flew Cody down for the Benicia annual Christmas tree lighting and to see Nana and granddad. It was a short but very special weekend. I have included the video where Cody surprised your grandparents with his visit. It made them both so happy. It was Jeff’s family’s turn for Christmas so we flew up to Washington to be with his nephew, Maxon and the rest of the family. When I’m Sixty-Four.

Hi Zach, well, now I am officially the age of a Beatles song. It’s hard to believe I’m that old and have yet to reunite with you. It’s been almost 15 years.  I think of you every day of my life and pray that you are happy and loved.  Of course, October means Halloween, one of my favorite holidays. We met up with friends to celebrate and I dressed as Beth from the television show Yellowstone. Perhaps you’ve heard of it. Earlier in the month your aunt Christine and I went to a meet and greet for the actor Sam Heughan from outlander. It’s a show. We are both obsessed with that takes place in 18th century Scotland around the clan Fraser. Up until a few years ago, I had no idea that Jeff’s family are Fraser’s and Fraser is his younger brother‘s and father’s middle name. My head exploded lol.
