Family Updates

Hi Zach, some fun updates for you this week! Your cousin Mark has been in Oahu for the past two weeks training with the British Navy as well as doing a lot of touring. That's right, he joined up as an officer because of his university education and has passed all the tests. He got married to his long-time girlfriend as well so he has lots to celebrate. Last week Uncle Tony came out from Texas to stay with Nana and Granddad for the week. We all went up for the day to visit and it was really great to see him looking so fit.He is the same old Uncle Tony, lots of stories about him and Granddad's adventures when they were in the Navy and all the things we did when we all moved to America. It really was a huge leap of faith but they made it work and we wouldn't be here today if not for that.. It's wonderful to be able to hear all about those exploits first hand, I will always treasure those conversations.

So your brother is a bit of a rap star, at least in the Wine Industry. He got himself invited to a Kendall Jackson management event at the Meritage Hotel in Napa this past Monday because he had written and performed a rap song about all the different KJ wines and they loved it so much they wanted all of the people at the event to hear it as well. They got him a room at the hotel and he got to have dinner and party with them for the night after performing the rap. The attached photo is of him with the KJ Wine-Maker. I am so happy Cody got to experience this. His wine reps really like him as he has been invited to some other special events over the summer as well.

Other than that Jeff and I are getting ready for a trip up to Washington for a family reunion on his dad's side and we will stay on San Juan Island in the Puget Sound where he grew up. Hoping to do some Kayaking and watch the pods of Orcas and their babies swim by. Anyway, that's it for now. Hope all is well with you. As always, I think about you all the time and wish that we could be together again.

Waiting for Spring

Hi Zach, we are waiting for spring to come here in Benicia as most days have been  rainy and chilly. Your mom has always loved beach weather and can’t wait for summer lol. Hope that wherever you are, you are enjoying the outdoors. Aside from celebrating Jeff’s 54th birthday, February was fairly quiet around here. I have been working a lot of shifts at the winery which is still the best job ever and Jeff and I have been preparing for the first vacation. we have had alone together in two years. We flew down to Curaçao, which is part of the Netherland Antilles and is close to Aruba. We had a very relaxing and amazing time in the warm weather and on the beautiful beaches. Came home to that drizzly chill and are back to waiting for sunshine. I often wonder if you travel for fun and if so, what places you have discovered and if you have any favorites. We have a couple more trips coming up this year, one to visit your uncle Gregg and auntie Kim now that they live in Portugal. Al...

Holiday Spirit

  Dear Zach, hoping you got the Christmas and birthday cards I sent to you. Cannot believe you are 30 years old now. I can’t really say time has flown given  that not being able to see you has left a huge void in our lives. The holiday season is always bittersweet in that our family always finds ways to celebrate and love one another, but there  are always thoughts of missing  you intertwined.  Jeff and I flew Cody down for the Benicia annual Christmas tree lighting and to see Nana and granddad. It was a short but very special weekend. I have included the video where Cody surprised your grandparents with his visit. It made them both so happy. It was Jeff’s family’s turn for Christmas so we flew up to Washington to be with his nephew, Maxon and the rest of the family. When I’m Sixty-Four.

Hi Zach, well, now I am officially the age of a Beatles song. It’s hard to believe I’m that old and have yet to reunite with you. It’s been almost 15 years.  I think of you every day of my life and pray that you are happy and loved.  Of course, October means Halloween, one of my favorite holidays. We met up with friends to celebrate and I dressed as Beth from the television show Yellowstone. Perhaps you’ve heard of it. Earlier in the month your aunt Christine and I went to a meet and greet for the actor Sam Heughan from outlander. It’s a show. We are both obsessed with that takes place in 18th century Scotland around the clan Fraser. Up until a few years ago, I had no idea that Jeff’s family are Fraser’s and Fraser is his younger brother‘s and father’s middle name. My head exploded lol.
