Thanksgiving

Hi Zach, how was your Thanksgiving? Did you spend it with friends or family in Southern California or did you fly home to Texas and see everyone there? Nana, Granddad, Uncle Gregg, Auntie Kim and Cody came to our house and stayed over. We had a terrific time but wished you were here celebrating with us of course. Cody only worked that morning so by 2:30 he was over and joining us for snacks and the first few football games.The next day Nana, Auntie Kim and I walked down town Walnut Creek, did some Christmas shopping and had a mother-daughters lunch together. We really did enjoy ourselves. The boys all stayed back and watched football. Jeff's University of Washington Huskies were playing their rival game against the Washington State Cougars in the Annual Apple Cup and they won!! We were extremely happy about that. All in all it was a very special holiday as we had not been all together for Thanksgiving in a few years. It has been even longer since we have all celebrated with you, going on 7 years to be exact. We all miss you very much and wish with all our hearts you would join the family again and be a part of the love we share for each other.

Until then, I will continue to write to you Zachary, I won't give up and I will never stop asking you to come back into our lives.

Waiting for Spring

Hi Zach, we are waiting for spring to come here in Benicia as most days have been  rainy and chilly. Your mom has always loved beach weather and can’t wait for summer lol. Hope that wherever you are, you are enjoying the outdoors. Aside from celebrating Jeff’s 54th birthday, February was fairly quiet around here. I have been working a lot of shifts at the winery which is still the best job ever and Jeff and I have been preparing for the first vacation. we have had alone together in two years. We flew down to Curaçao, which is part of the Netherland Antilles and is close to Aruba. We had a very relaxing and amazing time in the warm weather and on the beautiful beaches. Came home to that drizzly chill and are back to waiting for sunshine. I often wonder if you travel for fun and if so, what places you have discovered and if you have any favorites. We have a couple more trips coming up this year, one to visit your uncle Gregg and auntie Kim now that they live in Portugal. Al...

Holiday Spirit

  Dear Zach, hoping you got the Christmas and birthday cards I sent to you. Cannot believe you are 30 years old now. I can’t really say time has flown given  that not being able to see you has left a huge void in our lives. The holiday season is always bittersweet in that our family always finds ways to celebrate and love one another, but there  are always thoughts of missing  you intertwined.  Jeff and I flew Cody down for the Benicia annual Christmas tree lighting and to see Nana and granddad. It was a short but very special weekend. I have included the video where Cody surprised your grandparents with his visit. It made them both so happy. It was Jeff’s family’s turn for Christmas so we flew up to Washington to be with his nephew, Maxon and the rest of the family. When I’m Sixty-Four.

Hi Zach, well, now I am officially the age of a Beatles song. It’s hard to believe I’m that old and have yet to reunite with you. It’s been almost 15 years.  I think of you every day of my life and pray that you are happy and loved.  Of course, October means Halloween, one of my favorite holidays. We met up with friends to celebrate and I dressed as Beth from the television show Yellowstone. Perhaps you’ve heard of it. Earlier in the month your aunt Christine and I went to a meet and greet for the actor Sam Heughan from outlander. It’s a show. We are both obsessed with that takes place in 18th century Scotland around the clan Fraser. Up until a few years ago, I had no idea that Jeff’s family are Fraser’s and Fraser is his younger brother‘s and father’s middle name. My head exploded lol.
