Go Hawks!!

Hi Zach, Well it has been an exciting month so far. After a few last minute decisions and an NFC Championship win by the Seattle Seahawks, I decided to go to Arizona for the Super Bowl with Jeff. He and his brother already had flights booked and tickets to the game. His brother’s friend Chris and I booked our flights with plans to hang out in bar next to the stadium to be part of the fandemonium. All of us were able to stay in Phoenix  with Chris’s friend Mark. Most of us got in on Friday night the 30th of January. The next day we went to down town Phoenix where all the celebrations were being held. We had lunch, walked around to see all the fans and activities that the city had going on. We then went to the NFL Experience, an event being put on at the Convention Center. We saw the Lombardi trophy, replicas of the football locker rooms, memorabilia and all of the events being staged for the fans. It was pretty cool to be with so many people who are into professional football. It was mostly Seahawks fans so we felt right at home. 
Why the Seahawks? Well Cody and Jeff were born up in Washington and your uncle and I both lived there for a time so it just makes sense. I have been a fan now for over 3 years and football season has become a really fun part of the year for me now.  I have never been big into sports, but for some reason, I caught the fever on this one and even have my favorite players and a jersey! Sadly as you probably know, we did not win the game, but the experience was incredible and one I will remember always. Next Super Bowl is in Santa Clara and we have hotel rooms reserved just in case we are able to get there again this coming season. We are a good team so we have a strong chance of making it.
Well I hope your new year is off to a rousing start and that spring is coming early for you down in So. Cal. Be safe my love. I think of you every day and hope that you are happy.

Waiting for Spring

Hi Zach, we are waiting for spring to come here in Benicia as most days have been  rainy and chilly. Your mom has always loved beach weather and can’t wait for summer lol. Hope that wherever you are, you are enjoying the outdoors. Aside from celebrating Jeff’s 54th birthday, February was fairly quiet around here. I have been working a lot of shifts at the winery which is still the best job ever and Jeff and I have been preparing for the first vacation. we have had alone together in two years. We flew down to Curaçao, which is part of the Netherland Antilles and is close to Aruba. We had a very relaxing and amazing time in the warm weather and on the beautiful beaches. Came home to that drizzly chill and are back to waiting for sunshine. I often wonder if you travel for fun and if so, what places you have discovered and if you have any favorites. We have a couple more trips coming up this year, one to visit your uncle Gregg and auntie Kim now that they live in Portugal. Al...

Holiday Spirit

  Dear Zach, hoping you got the Christmas and birthday cards I sent to you. Cannot believe you are 30 years old now. I can’t really say time has flown given  that not being able to see you has left a huge void in our lives. The holiday season is always bittersweet in that our family always finds ways to celebrate and love one another, but there  are always thoughts of missing  you intertwined.  Jeff and I flew Cody down for the Benicia annual Christmas tree lighting and to see Nana and granddad. It was a short but very special weekend. I have included the video where Cody surprised your grandparents with his visit. It made them both so happy. It was Jeff’s family’s turn for Christmas so we flew up to Washington to be with his nephew, Maxon and the rest of the family. When I’m Sixty-Four.

Hi Zach, well, now I am officially the age of a Beatles song. It’s hard to believe I’m that old and have yet to reunite with you. It’s been almost 15 years.  I think of you every day of my life and pray that you are happy and loved.  Of course, October means Halloween, one of my favorite holidays. We met up with friends to celebrate and I dressed as Beth from the television show Yellowstone. Perhaps you’ve heard of it. Earlier in the month your aunt Christine and I went to a meet and greet for the actor Sam Heughan from outlander. It’s a show. We are both obsessed with that takes place in 18th century Scotland around the clan Fraser. Up until a few years ago, I had no idea that Jeff’s family are Fraser’s and Fraser is his younger brother‘s and father’s middle name. My head exploded lol. Thanksgiving was quiet as Nana and granddad don’t eat much so taking them to a restaurant where they are serving a huge meal is not ideal. Instead, Jeff and I spent the...
