Here it is already: End of May

Hi Zach, lots to be excited about this past couple of weeks. I surprised Nana with an overnight visit on Mothers Day which turned out to be very special for us all. I had been to lunch with Cody the day before and he dropped off a wonderful homemade card the next morning. Then over Memorial weekend Jeff and I took off to Murphys in the eastern foothills of the Sierras for a little weekend break at a Bed and Breakfast and some practice hiking for our annual summer backpacking trip to Desolation Wilderness. Went up to the south grove of the Big Trees to see some giant redwoods and challenge ourselves on the trails. No one was more shocked when out there in the forest on a beautiful spring day, Jeff got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was completely shocked and did not see it coming but of course told him 'yes.' After almost 11 years together it's icing on the cake as I feel we were meant to be. I hope that if you read this you will be happy for us in some small ...

A Turningpoint

Hi Zach, it didn't take a long time but emotionally it hit me harder than I thought it would. I sold the house on Pebble Glen as Jeff and I are saving for something in Walnut Creek close to town and Cody is living out on his own. There were a lot of good and bad memories made in that house so saying goodbye to it was bittersweet. It was where I raised you and Cody and also the last place I saw you before everything happened. We had many wonderful Christmases there as well as your many first days of school. Cody went to proms from that house and he graduated high school while living there. There were lots of sleepovers and parties and plenty of time spent with Nana and Granddad, basically a big part of our lives together and now it's gone and we have only those memories to cherish. I guess it's a new chapter that I will have to get used to but I thought you should know. Not sure when or where we will find a new place but we are not in a rush. I hope things are going well...
