A milestone
Hi Zach, well another milestone has come and gone. I hit the big 55 this week and had a very unexpected and pleasant birthday celebration in San Francisco, thanks to Jeff and his Boss Chris. They took us to dinner at a tiny Italian restaurant in Russian Hill where we met the owner who is also the chef. His name is Lorenzo and he owns the building so he and his wife live in a beautiful home right above where he works every day. As you can imagine, having been to Italy, it was wonderful to meet him and sample the wonderful food he creates. I had squid ink risotto with scallops and langastino, you would have loved it. Lorenzo invited us up to his roof top and living room for drinks during and after dinner. You can see three bridges from the top, the Bay Bridge, the San Rafael and the Golden Gate. The view was absolutely amazing. After dinner I was served 4 different desserts and Lorenzo had the whole restaurant and the customers sing happy birthday as well as the moon pizza pie song we used to listen to in the Jerry Lewis movies we watched sometimes. It was really something and I felt quite lucky. The rest of the month was hectic as Jeff and I bought a house and were scrambling to pack and prepare for the move that will take place near the end of the month. I will write again soon to give you details about the new place. I love you and miss you and hope that you are doing well sweetheart.
Love always,
Mom
