Life after Kauai

Well Zach, as is always the case when returning from the tropics we are going through the letdown of no longer being in paradise, but we are making our own here at home by diving into decorating the house. Now that all the wedding planning is behind us we are concentrating on painting, gardening, and decorating before the summer hits and we start having all kinds of visitors. Jeff's parents will be here in mid May when we will have a reception for all of our friends and family that were not in Kauai for the wedding. Next up will be desolation wilderness for our annual backpacking trip with Auntie Kim and your Uncle Gregg. After that we have a trip to Seattle planned to attend our friend Chris and his partner's wedding. This should be the event of the year and we are really looking forward to it. We also have a couple of football trips lined up of course. Before all that Jeff and I are trying to squeeze in a mini honeymoon next weekend to Calistoga. We are hoping to do a spa day, some wine tasting, and enjoy some much needed down time.

Everyone is well here including Nana and Granddad as well as your brother who is still working at Safeway. Your Aunt Christine was awarded employee of the year for the Livermore police department, which is quite an honor. The award was presented at a banquet that I was able to attend. It was quite something to see how law enforcement honors its workers, as society does not always give them the support they deserve seeing as how they sacrifice so much for our safety. Speaking of safety, I hope things are going well in your life too. Maybe someday you will reach out and fill me in on all the experiences you are having. I would love nothing more then to just be there and listen. Until then I will keep writing and sending my support here.

I Love You,
Mom
