Wedding #2: Elvis

Well Zach, it's been a very hectic summer and the schedule is carrying into fall without any let up. This has been the year of weddings, first mine and Jeffs, then our neighbors. Coming up in October is Jessica's best friend Jenna's and finally our friend Chris and his partner Matthew. Our downtown neighbors Hillary and John who are both musicians were married at one of their gigs by an Elvis impersonator, LOL. It was so fun and so cute, the impersonator drove up in a pink Cadillac and was wearing a white jumpsuit. He used all the funny terminology Elvis used in his songs like hunk a hunk of burning love and sweet little gal, etc. it took place at a winery on Mare Island where granddad used to play golf. The weather was perfect, sunny and warm and the bride and groom left for a two-week trip to Paris the following day.

Last night we put on a work party for all of Jeff's company. The theme was Mexican luau so we had shrimp and steak tacos with all the fixings. Everyone had a really good time. Next up is Chris and his partner Matthew's bachelor party in Vegas. It's more of a family affair with a beach cabana being rented and a lot of football being watched. Should be a ton of fun. Jeff's brother Keith will be there as well.

Cody has been working hard at Safeway but also on his music event producing. His collective has put on to recent shows at a local venue and both have gone really well. He was even able to pay the performers. Seems like both of you have a little bit of show business in you 😎

Waiting for Spring

Hi Zach, we are waiting for spring to come here in Benicia as most days have been  rainy and chilly. Your mom has always loved beach weather and can’t wait for summer lol. Hope that wherever you are, you are enjoying the outdoors. Aside from celebrating Jeff’s 54th birthday, February was fairly quiet around here. I have been working a lot of shifts at the winery which is still the best job ever and Jeff and I have been preparing for the first vacation. we have had alone together in two years. We flew down to Curaçao, which is part of the Netherland Antilles and is close to Aruba. We had a very relaxing and amazing time in the warm weather and on the beautiful beaches. Came home to that drizzly chill and are back to waiting for sunshine. I often wonder if you travel for fun and if so, what places you have discovered and if you have any favorites. Holiday Spirit

  Dear Zach, hoping you got the Christmas and birthday cards I sent to you. Cannot believe you are 30 years old now. I can’t really say time has flown given  that not being able to see you has left a huge void in our lives. The holiday season is always bittersweet in that our family always finds ways to celebrate and love one another, but there  are always thoughts of missing  you intertwined.  Jeff and I flew Cody down for the Benicia annual Christmas tree lighting and to see Nana and granddad. It was a short but very special weekend. I have included the video where Cody surprised your grandparents with his visit. It made them both so happy. It was Jeff’s family’s turn for Christmas so we flew up to Washington to be with his nephew, Maxon and the rest of the family. When I’m Sixty-Four.

Hi Zach, well, now I am officially the age of a Beatles song. It’s hard to believe I’m that old and have yet to reunite with you. It’s been almost 15 years.  I think of you every day of my life and pray that you are happy and loved.  Of course, October means Halloween, one of my favorite holidays. We met up with friends to celebrate and I dressed as Beth from the television show Yellowstone. Perhaps you’ve heard of it. Earlier in the month your aunt Christine and I went to a meet and greet for the actor Sam Heughan from outlander. It’s a show. We are both obsessed with that takes place in 18th century Scotland around the clan Fraser. Up until a few years ago, I had no idea that Jeff’s family are Fraser’s and Fraser is his younger brother‘s and father’s middle name. My head exploded lol.
