Celebrating my retirement

Hi Zach, I hope this note finds you well. Couple of things to catch you up on. Two days after I retired. I went on a cruise with aunt Shari, aunt, Christine, Lisa, and my other friend Jen. Jeff doesn’t do cruises since he gets so seasick, which means we will celebrate together later on this year. as five girls flew into Fort Lauderdale for a cruise throughout the Caribbean. We went to Eleuthera, Grand Cayman, and grand Turk. We even got to ride horses on the beach!! It was so fun just having a whole week to relax and lie on various beautiful, white sandy beaches, and the company was amazing.

Since I got back, I have been painting all the baseboards, volunteering for cancer, support center in Walnut Creek, working out at the gym, and generally just taking it easy after working for Wells Fargo for almost 41 years. It still feels like a vacation, so I will have to find something a little more constructive to occupy my time. Lisa and I are planning on getting certified to work in a winery, so we will complete that sometime in the fall. He is doing well up in Portland, though I think he says California given that Oregon weather is pretty drab.

Nana turned 87 last month, and now that I am retired, I was able to go up on her actual birthday and take her to lunch. One of the perks of retirement is being able to celebrate, important events on the day versus having to wait for the weekend. Anyway, got a run, as I have a class at the gym at the top of the hour. It would be wonderful to know how you are doing and if you are truly happy with your life. There will always be a piece missing for me without you in mine. I miss you so much and pray every day that we can be reunited soon. Until next time…

With all my love,

Mom
