Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Zach, another year has gone by and you are almost in your thirties! That concept is so unbelievable to me as I remember my sweet, affectionate little boy all those years ago now. I hope you enjoyed the holidays and were surrounded by love and support. 


The holidays weren’t too crazy around here. We celebrated Christmas early with Nana and granddad given that uncle Gregg and auntie Kim were back from Portugal for a brief visit. We had a fantastic Christmas Eve day out on our deck due to some amazing weather, but had quiet Christmas given that Nana and granddad were quite ill so we could not visit them that day. Had a fun New Year’s celebration with friends in Benicia, and then in January, we celebrated our Scottish heritage via Robert Burns Night with some new friends living in Napa.

Your uncle Gregg and auntie Kim have settled into their new place in Portugal and have begun to receive numerous visitors given their fantastic location. Cody is still living up in Portland and working two jobs to make ends meet and support his daughter. Not much else to catch you up on I am afraid. I hope you are well. I miss you so much.

Hi Zach, we are waiting for spring to come here in Benicia as most days have been  rainy and chilly. Your mom has always loved beach weather and can’t wait for summer lol. Hope that wherever you are, you are enjoying the outdoors. Aside from celebrating Jeff’s 54th birthday, February was fairly quiet around here. I have been working a lot of shifts at the winery which is still the best job ever and Jeff and I have been preparing for the first vacation. we have had alone together in two years. We flew down to Curaçao, which is part of the Netherland Antilles and is close to Aruba. We had a very relaxing and amazing time in the warm weather and on the beautiful beaches. Came home to that drizzly chill and are back to waiting for sunshine. I often wonder if you travel for fun and if so, what places you have discovered and if you have any favorites. Holiday Spirit

  Dear Zach, hoping you got the Christmas and birthday cards I sent to you. Cannot believe you are 30 years old now. I can’t really say time has flown given  that not being able to see you has left a huge void in our lives. The holiday season is always bittersweet in that our family always finds ways to celebrate and love one another, but there  are always thoughts of missing  you intertwined.  Jeff and I flew Cody down for the Benicia annual Christmas tree lighting and to see Nana and granddad. It was a short but very special weekend. I have included the video where Cody surprised your grandparents with his visit. It made them both so happy. It was Jeff’s family’s turn for Christmas so we flew up to Washington to be with his nephew, Maxon and the rest of the family. When I’m Sixty-Four.

Hi Zach, well, now I am officially the age of a Beatles song. It’s hard to believe I’m that old and have yet to reunite with you. It’s been almost 15 years.  I think of you every day of my life and pray that you are happy and loved.  Of course, October means Halloween, one of my favorite holidays. We met up with friends to celebrate and I dressed as Beth from the television show Yellowstone. Perhaps you’ve heard of it. Earlier in the month your aunt Christine and I went to a meet and greet for the actor Sam Heughan from outlander. It’s a show. We are both obsessed with that takes place in 18th century Scotland around the clan Fraser. Up until a few years ago, I had no idea that Jeff’s family are Fraser’s and Fraser is his younger brother‘s and father’s middle name. My head exploded lol.
