Summertime

Happy Summer Zach! My favorite time of year as I love the warm weather. I still remember us visiting Oahu and you learning to surf on Waikiki. We had so much fun. June marks our nephew Maxon’s second birthday, as well as your niece Emunah’s. Jeff and I took a quick trip up to North Bend Washington to visit his brother and celebrate Maxon’s birthday with family. I am planning a trip to Portland to visit Cody and his daughter in late August. 


Granddad had surgery on his forearm for melanoma in early July. There were complications and an allergic reaction that hospitalized him and severely traumatized Nana. Everything turned out OK, but it was very scary for everyone at the time. I really wish you were in touch with them. They are getting so much more frail now and contact with you would bring so much positive energy into their lives. Now that uncle Gregg is living in Portugal, I try to visit them a couple of times a month, though they do participate in some activities at their independent living facility and that keeps them busy and active enough for now.

Jeff and I did manage to squeeze in our annual Fourth of July celebration with all of our friends. Watching the fireworks directly from our deck still feels so unreal and amazing. Hopefully one day he will visit and be able to take it all in. I hope you’re having a wonderful summer Sweetheart. Be safe.

Hi Zach, we are waiting for spring to come here in Benicia as most days have been  rainy and chilly. Your mom has always loved beach weather and can’t wait for summer lol. Hope that wherever you are, you are enjoying the outdoors. Aside from celebrating Jeff’s 54th birthday, February was fairly quiet around here. I have been working a lot of shifts at the winery which is still the best job ever and Jeff and I have been preparing for the first vacation. we have had alone together in two years. We flew down to Curaçao, which is part of the Netherland Antilles and is close to Aruba. We had a very relaxing and amazing time in the warm weather and on the beautiful beaches. Came home to that drizzly chill and are back to waiting for sunshine. I often wonder if you travel for fun and if so, what places you have discovered and if you have any favorites. Holiday Spirit

  Dear Zach, hoping you got the Christmas and birthday cards I sent to you. Cannot believe you are 30 years old now. I can’t really say time has flown given  that not being able to see you has left a huge void in our lives. The holiday season is always bittersweet in that our family always finds ways to celebrate and love one another, but there  are always thoughts of missing  you intertwined.  Jeff and I flew Cody down for the Benicia annual Christmas tree lighting and to see Nana and granddad. It was a short but very special weekend. I have included the video where Cody surprised your grandparents with his visit. It made them both so happy. It was Jeff’s family’s turn for Christmas so we flew up to Washington to be with his nephew, Maxon and the rest of the family. When I’m Sixty-Four.

Hi Zach, well, now I am officially the age of a Beatles song. It’s hard to believe I’m that old and have yet to reunite with you. It’s been almost 15 years.  I think of you every day of my life and pray that you are happy and loved.  Of course, October means Halloween, one of my favorite holidays. We met up with friends to celebrate and I dressed as Beth from the television show Yellowstone. Perhaps you’ve heard of it. Earlier in the month your aunt Christine and I went to a meet and greet for the actor Sam Heughan from outlander. It’s a show. We are both obsessed with that takes place in 18th century Scotland around the clan Fraser. Up until a few years ago, I had no idea that Jeff’s family are Fraser’s and Fraser is his younger brother‘s and father’s middle name. My head exploded lol.
