City Life

Hi Zach, well I think Cody was happy to tell dad that he had moved out on his own and is totally independent. He is doing really well and has a girlfriend, Jessica, that is very sweet. They seem to get along very well together and are very grounded in life. I am very happy that Cody has found someone like her. I also have some news of my own.....Jeff and I moved to down town Walnut Creek a few weeks ago to see what city life is like. We love being able to walk everywhere in town, to the farmer's market on weekends and to the movies etc. It is pretty cool and convenient and I am now only about a mile and a half from work which is great. Jeff only has to walk 2 blocks to BART to get into SF so he is loving that as well. We are currently trying to get the kitties to be friends with each other and it is coming along slowly. Cats need time to adjust to their new surroundings and each other so we have a bit of work ahead of us and need a lot of patience with them. Speaking of work, ...

Hawaii

Hi Zach, we are back from Hawaii and had a fabulous time with Juliette (with her daddy Ryan in the photo). It was really wonderful seeing the island and beaches through the eyes of a toddler. She learned so many new words during our visit, like 'Opakipaki' when we told here we were having fresh Opakapaka for dinner and 'turtle' when we took her to see the turtles a the Mauna Lani hotel near your Uncle Gregg's place. We took her to see the dolphins and we counted palm trees every morning while having coffee on the Lani. She is such a good kid, no crying on either plane ride and sleeps really well. Kind of reminded me of you. It was a wonderful vacation for all of us. Back to reality now, though I did get a wonderful mother's day card from Cody. He really knows how to express his feelings in the written word. I was so touched. I was hoping to see a card in the mail from you too, maybe next year.
